📖 How to Use
🎯 Getting Started
This tool analyzes RLC circuits in the frequency domain:
- Resonant Frequency (f₀): The frequency at which inductive and capacitive reactances cancel
- Quality Factor (Q): Measure of how selective the circuit is (higher Q = narrower bandwidth)
- Bode Plot: Visual representation of gain (dB) vs. frequency on logarithmic scale
- Bandwidth: Frequency range between -3dB points
🔧 Circuit Types
Series RLC: Components connected in series
- Low impedance at resonance (voltage peak)
- Used for bandpass filters, tuned circuits
- Q = (2πf₀L) / R = 1 / (2πf₀RC)
Parallel RLC: Components connected in parallel
- High impedance at resonance (current peak)
- Used for bandstop filters, tank circuits
- Q = R / (2πf₀L) = 2πf₀RC
📐 Formulas
Resonant Frequency:
f₀ = 1 / (2π√(LC))
Quality Factor (Series):
Q = (1/R) × √(L/C) = (2πf₀L) / R
Quality Factor (Parallel):
Q = R × √(C/L) = R / (2πf₀L)
Bandwidth:
BW = f₀ / Q
💡 Unit Prefixes & Input Examples
Use standard metric prefixes for convenience. As you type, the parsed value appears below each input:
- Resistance: 10k, 1.5kΩ, 100, 10M (lowercase k = kilo, uppercase M = mega)
- Inductance: 1m, 100u, 100µH, 10n (lowercase m = milli, u/µ = micro, n = nano)
- Capacitance: 1u, 100nF, 10p, 100n (n = nano, p = pico, lowercase m = milli)
Supported prefixes: p (pico), n (nano), u/µ (micro), m (milli), k (kilo), M (mega)
⚠️ Case matters: lowercase 'm' = milli (10-3), uppercase 'M' = mega (106)
